ConvertBox (Freebie Opt-ins and more)

I had been using another opt-in tool for years, but I started getting frustrated when I’d see awesome opt-ins and other website visitor engagement tools, try to recreate my own version… and then find out they were built on ConvertBox and my tool couldn’t quite do that.
I finally switched to ConvertBox this year, and it’s been so great! Creating new freebie opt-ins has been a breeze, and I’ve got some really fun ideas of what else I can do with it too. 😉 Shoot me a DM or email and I’d be happy to brainstorm what you can do with it too!
Kit (formerly ConvertKit)

You’ve probably already heard of this one (though it was probably under the name ConvertKit). I started using them years ago, and while I now use Encharge, it’s not the right fit for many folks, and Kit is what I’d go back to if I needed to switch email marketing platforms.
If you’re looking to get off of MailChimp (because who isn’t? 😜), want to escape ActiveCampaign’s soaring prices, or just need more from your email marketing platform, I’d recommend Kit.
Quick note: If you’re looking for really powerful automations, Kit’s not where it’s at (at that point, I’d recommend Encharge), but otherwise, it’s a fit for probably 90% of people I work with!

Funnel of the Month Club (Email marketing templates)

If you’re tired of trying to piece together your email marketing funnels, I highly recommend the Funnel of the Month Club!

We’ve gone through quite a few social media scheduling tools, but Vista Social has a lot of features the others haven’t. It’s been one of the first schedulers that could schedule collaborative Instagram posts as well as Threads posts, for one! You can get a unified inbox for all of your social media accounts and even create tasks inside Vista Social. The reports are super helpful too, especially for platforms like Threads where it’s hard to get that info!

Castmagic (Content Repurposing)

This has become my go-to tool for podcast tours! It lets me pull the episodes directly from the podcast feeds or Youtube, rather than having to ask the host for the file. 🙌 Then I grab everything I need to make social media posts, and we’re off to the races! Having an automated workflow like this saves a lot of time as I build my Visibility Ecosystem.
It’s still relatively new, so they’re continuing to work on the tool, but it’s been getting better by leaps and bounds since I first started using it. The team is also very interested in hearing from their user base as to what we want to see next!

If you’re as tired of Facebook groups as I am, Heartbeat may be exactly what you’re looking for! It’s like a cross between the channels of Slack and the ease of use from a Facebook group. You can also include things like courses, events, and even automating workflows (like sending a welcome message to new members).
It’s super easy to use and their support team has been great when I have questions. I’ve had great feedback from community members too!

If-So (On-page Segmentation for WordPress)

If you use WordPress, If-So could be a great booster for conversion! It can also save you time on creating multiple versions of the same page. The way I use it the most is to create a single opt-in page for summits, podcasts, and other speaking opportunities and then customize what shows up on the page. That way, I can have one page, but have it say “Hey, I’m so glad you found me on [THIS SUMMIT]!” so that it still feels custom.

Descript (Video/Audio Editing)

We’ve been using Descript since 2020 for everything from podcasts to full-blown virtual summits. This is also what we often use to create short-form videos for social because Descript is super versatile in the designs you can create. If you’re just going to use it for podcast tours, it may not be fully worth it, but if you have your own podcast or want to level up your Reels or TikToks, for example, it could pay for itself pretty quickly!
We’ve been a little frustrated at how Descript handles file management, which is why I couldn’t give it five stars, but it’s been worth dealing with because you can edit videos and audio through the transcript instead of traditional editing methods! It saves a ton of time, even when taking into account the frustration.
